Georgene “Jean” M. King, age 92, of 2722 South Hill Road #46; Gladstone, died Monday April 17th, 2006 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba following a lengthy illness.

Georgene was born June 10th, 1913 in Menominee, MI, the daughter of Ervin and Louise (Evenson) Schomer was raised and lived there until her marriage to Raymond W. King on February 8th, 1932 in Wells, MI. Raymond preceded her in death August 7th, 2000.

She enjoyed traveling, game playing, dartball, and spending time with her family. Both Georgene and Raymond were well known for their kindness and possessing a true spirit of Christianity.

Georgene King’s survivors include:

2 Sons- Ronald (Barbara) King of Keystone, South Dakota; James (Maxine) King of Gladstone

3 Daughters- Jeanne (Joseph) Allsworth of Gladstone; Sharon (Dave) Strempel of Oak Forest, Ill.; Patricia Grimm of Wittmann, Arizona

18 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great and great-great-great grandchildren

1 Brother- Leonard Schomer of Vero Beach, Florida.

She was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Nancy Lou, and by a grandson, Rodney King of Rapid City, South Dakota.

In addition, Georgene was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

The family of Georgene “Jean” M. King will receive friends on Thursday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Service celebrating her life will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Elder Mike Balenger officiating. Luncheon will follow services at the Community of Christ Church in Gladstone. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery; Escanaba. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the King family.
