Jay Stearns

Jay A. Stearns , 71, of Wild Rose, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, April 24th, 2006, at the Wild Rose Manor Nursing Home.. He was born on August 19th, 1934, in Escanaba, Michigan the son of the late Jay and Elizabeth Stearns, of Gladstone. Jay attended the “Sight Saving Room” at the Escanaba Area Schools, and graduated from the “Michigan School for the Blind” in 1954, with a specialty in piano tuning. Music was his life and passion, and he was never more happy than when he was entertaining friends. Jay was a former resident of Wautoma, Wisconsin for the past 15 years before moving to Wild Rose, Wisconsin.

Jay Stearns survivors include: a Sister, Mary Carrigan, of Mound, MN; 2 Brothers- Jim (Millie) Stearns of Iron Mountain, MI andTom (Debby)( Stearns of Bark River, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Jay also leaves to survive his special friends, Steve Smith, of Wautoma, WI, and Mary Ann Pularski, of Wild Rose, WI.

In addition to his parents, Jay and Elizabeth Stearns, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace and Eugene, and by a sister, Betsy.

The family of Jay A. Stearns will receive friends on Friday, April 28th, at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon with services celebrating his life at 12:00 Noon on Friday at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Internment will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Stearns family
