Eunice Johnson, age 92, of 11249 Sunny Brook Lane, died Wednesday afternoon May 31, 2006 at her home in Rapid River.
Eunice was born October 6, 1913, in Thorp, WI, the daughter of John and Anna (Furman) Wohld. She was raised in Thorp and attended and graduated from the Thorp High School. Eunice married Russell Johnson on her eighteenth birthday, in Thorp, WI, on October 6, 1931 and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Owen, WI. Eunice worked primarily, throughout her life, as a homemaker raising her family and keeping her home. Russell preceded her in death on January 7, 1975. Eunice relocated to Delta County in 1996 and has resided in the Rapid River area for the past 10 years. Eunice was extensively involved in the Rapid River Senior Center and enjoyed weaving and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include:
1 Son: Jack (Louise) Johnson of East Troy, WI
2 Daughters: Beverly Johnson of Wild Rose, WI; Lou Ann (Dwight) Seger of Rapid River, MI
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, John and Anna, and her husband Russell, Eunice was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister and her great granddaughter, Rochelle Horwitz.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00AM to 12:00PM C.S.T. at the Thorp Funeral Home in Thorp, WI. Funeral services celebrating the life of Eunice Johnson will follow visitation, at 12:00PM C.S.T, at the Thorp Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Welch of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Committal will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Withee, WI. Luncheon will follow at the Owen Golf Course. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County along with the Thorp Funeral Home in Thorp, WI are assisting the Johnson family with arrangements.
