Alice N. Norman, age 65, of 2722 South Hill Road, Gladstone, MI died Saturday evening May 20, 2006 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba where she was a patient.
Alice was born October 2, 1940 in Gladstone the daughter of Reed and Helen (Anderson) Oathoudt. She was raised in Gladstone and she was a graduate of Gladstone High School. Following graduation she was united in marriage on May 3, 1958 to Marvin Norman. They resided in Rock for six years prior to moving to Rapid River where they raised their children. In 1987 they moved to Gladstone where they have resided since.
Alice was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone, the Gladstone Senior Center and the Rapid River Lions Club. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She loved cooking and her family will miss her lemon miringue pie and stuffing. Alice had worked at McDonald’s in Gladstone until she was diagnosed with cancer.

4 Sons: Jerry (Sharon) Norman of Gladstone; Jon (Grace) Norman of Mosinee, WI; Jeffrey (April) Norman of Gladstone; James Norman of Gladstone
1 Daughter: Patricia (Randy) Gartland of Gladstone
1 Sister: Helen (Ralph) Longshore of Fern Creek, Kentucky
9 Grandchildren: Katie Breault, Jerry Norman II, Sammantha Norman, Jacob Norman, Justin Norman, Alisha Gartland, Nichole Norman, Miranda Gartland and Harley Rose Anderson.
1 Great granddaughter: Trinity Breault

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: Daughter, Linda Norman, 2 sisters, Joan Oathoudt and Mary Hulbert, brother-in-law, Rodney Hulbert and nephew, Michael Hulbert.
Alice’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Alice N. Norman will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Rock Cemetery in Rock.
