Roy R. Reimer, age 93, of 413 Wisconsin Avenue, Gladstone, MI died Friday evening May 5, 2006 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where he was a resident.
Roy was born December 31, 1912 in Carney, MI the son of Carl and Mary (Morgan) Reimer. He was raised in Carney and moved to Gladstone in the 1940’s. Roy married the former Violet McIntyre on July 1, 1950 and they made their home in Gladstone where they raised their two sons. Roy was a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service and he retired at the age of 78 in 1991.
Roy was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone and the Gladstone Senior Center. He loved spending time in the woods, rather it be hunting, cutting wood or just walking around. He enjoyed playing in the Smear League, fishing Walleye, spending time at camp, and being around his family.
Survivors include:
2 Sons: Michael (Diane ) Reimer of Eagle River, WI; Patrick (Cheri) Reimer of Rapid River
5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Violet on April 8, 2000, 2 brothers, Carl and Clifford and a sister, Elsie Trombley.
Roy’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Roy R. Reimer will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Joanne Bartelt of the Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Luncheon will follow services at the Memorial United Methodist Church Smith Hall. Burial will be in the Nadeau Cemetery in Nadeau.
