Rodney Dahn

Rodney “Rod” Allen Dahn, age 59, of 202 North Court Street, Gladstone, MI died Thursday June 15, 2006 at the Marquette General Hospital in Marquette following a lengthy illness with cancer.

Rodney was born October 29, 1946 in Gladstone the son of William and Doris (Jones) Dahn. He was raised in Brampton and attended Gladstone Public Schools. From 1964 to 1968, Rod served in the U.S. Marine’s during the Vietnam Conflict in Southeast Asia. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marines he returned to Gladstone where he worked for the Harnischfeger Corporation in Escanaba until its closure. He then attended Bay De Noc Community College where he studied Business Management. Following his studies, Rod purchased the Idle Time Bar in Gladstone of which he owned and operated for over 20 years. Rodney was united in marriage to his longtime sweetheart of over 25 years on May 6, 2006. His hobbies included picture taking, watching birds and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

1 Step-Daughter: Shelly (Robert) Claycomb of Gladstone

1 Brother: William “Rocky” (Erica) Dahn of Georgia

3 Sisters: Debbie (Llyle) Martin of Brampton, Glenda Dahn of Gladstone, Gaynal Dahn of Brampton

1 Grandson: Billy Dahn

6 Step-Grandchildren: Brittany Ketcham, Abbigale Ketcham, Savannah Ketcham, Alyssa Claycomb and Thomas Claycomb.

Rodney’s family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Gladstone American Legion Post #71 Military Rites will follow at 5:45 P.M. Funeral services celebrating the life of Rodney Allen Dahn will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt of the First Lutheran Church officiating. A luncheon will follow services at the Gladstone American Legion Hall.
