David C. “Chach” Martin, age 49, of the Rapid River area, died Sunday evening at home of an apparent heart attack.

David was born July 7th, 1957 in Milwaukee and was the son of native Delta County residents, Clarence “Pepper” Martin and the former Jeanette Chenier. He was raised in the West Allis, Wisconsin area and permanently relocated to the Rapid River in 1980. Truck driving was David’s profession for many years and most recently, he was employed in maintenance for the U.P. State Fair Grounds.

He was preceded in death in the previous year by his parents who resided in the Rapid River area.
David Martin’s survivors include:

a sister- Pamela (Steve) Nygaard of Gladstone

and a niece, Marissa Nygaard

The family of David C. Martin will receive friends on Saturday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Services will follow on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Emmitt Norden officiating. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Martin family.
