Ann Marie Bowerson, age 52, of 10348 U Pt 4 Lane, Rapid River, MI died Friday afternoon August 11, 2006 at home following a lengthy illness with cancer. Ann was born March 17, 1954 in Mount Clemens, MI the daughter of John and Catherine (Kraft) Cartwright.

Ann was raised in Algonac, MI along with her seven other siblings. She was a 1972 graduate of Algonac High School. She married James Bowerson on August 25, 1979. Ann worked at Clate’s Auto Service in Algonac for several years, of which she later co-owned with her husband Jim. Following the sale of their business in 1989 they relocated to Rose City, MI until moving to their present location in 1995 in Rapid River. Ann recently had worked for Wal Mart in Escanaba. Ann was a faith-filled member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Rapid River and was very active with her parish community. Ann was instrumental in restarting the St. Charles Social Committee and she took great pride in tending and caring for the gardens at St. Charles Church. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and would visit the homebound bringing communion to them. Ann was a member of the Escanaba Christian Women’s Club where she served as past chair.

Ann’s hobbies included fishing with her husband Jim and tending to her gardens. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband, survivors include:

2 Sisters: Cathy Milenbaugh of Algonac, MI; Christine (Russell) Ichenberg of Black River, MI

5 Grandchildren: Amanda Tucker, Nathan Vergin, Craig Bowerson, Nicole (Scott) Pritchard and Michyla Bowerson.

1 Great Granddaughter: Noveline Bowerson , several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
Ann was preceded in death by her father and her brother, John Cartwright.

Ann’s family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Parish prayers will follow at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial Services celebrating the life of Ann Marie Bowerson will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Rapid River with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo and Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. A luncheon will follow in the St. Charles Church Parish Hall. Entombment will be held at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells, MI. In lieu of
flowers memorial contributions in memory of Ann may be directed to the St. Charles Church General Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski Funeral Home or St. Charles Catholic Church.
