Barbara J. Barnes, age 80, of 1915 24th Avenue South, Escanaba died Monday evening November 27, 2006 at her brother’s residence in Escanaba.

Barbara was born May 12, 1926 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Francis and Barbara (Dewey) Hamilton. She was raised in Ann Arbor where she was a graduate of the Ann Arbor High School. Barbara continued her education at the University of Michigan where she received her B.S. degree in Biology. Barbara has resided for the past 30 years in Escanaba with her brother Herbert Hamilton and his wife Jennett.

Barbara Barnes' survivors include:

2 Sons- William (Jan) Barnes of Roseville, MN, and Steve Barnes

1 Brother- Herbert (Jennett) Hamilton of Escanaba

2 Grandchildren- Lisa and David

and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Charles Hamilton.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Barbara J. Barnes will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba with the Rev. Scott Harmon of the Central United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba.
