LeRoy G. Lamberg, age 84, of 503 North 11th Street, Gladstone, passed away Wednesday November 29, 2006, at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility following a lengthy illness. 

LeRoy was born September 29, 1922, in Gladstone, the son of George and Elsie (Holm) Lamberg.  LeRoy was raised in Gladstone and attended the historical Gladstone “Buckeye” school.  LeRoy later served for four years in the United States Army 40th Combat Engineer Battalion, from 1941 to 1945, during WWII in the European Theatre.  Medals of accommodation were issued to LeRoy, which included, Seven Battle Stars for 567 combat days and two Bronze Invasion Arrowheads, for his patriotic service during WWII.  LeRoy married the former Blanche Deiter, in Wells, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone.  LeRoy loved the outdoors, especially fishing.  He also enjoyed a good game of horseshoes and listening to country music.  LeRoy was a long time member of the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post #71. 

In addition to his wife Blanche, survivors include:

2 Sons:  Jim Lamberg of Gladstone, MI; Mike Lamberg of Seymour, WI

3 Brothers:  Harold, Dick and David (Barb)

4 Sisters:  Dorothy, Gladys (Ted), Linda and Joyce

4 Grandchildren:  Josh, Aaron, Tanner and Kyle

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elsie and 3 brothers, Arthur, John “Bud”, and Donald “Sonny”.

Family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.  Funeral services celebrating the life of LeRoy Lamberg will follow visitation at 4:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home, located in Gladstone.  Luncheon will follow at the Gladstone American Legion. Committal will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.  The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Lamberg family with arrangements.
