Betty J. Brown, age 79, of 12405 North 0.1 Lane; Perkins (Brampton Twp), died Sunday, December 24th, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba following a brief illness.

Betty was born to Frank and Nellie (Priest) Johnson on May 8th, 1927 in Kalamazoo, MI.

She relocated to Delta County in 1952 and settled in the Perkins area where she resided since.

She married Lloyd M. Brown in 1952 and he preceded her in death on September 7th, 1984. “Bingo” was one of her favorite past-times and in earlier years, vegetable gardening was a source of enjoyment for her. In addition, Betty was a faithful member of the Perkins American Legion Auxiliary Post #540.

Betty Brown’s survivors include:

1 Son- Warren (Gloria) Brown of Perkins

5 Daughters- Cathy (Dale) Couillard of Perkins; Carol Harris of Perkins; Dava (Lee) Ferrier of Perkins; Brenda (Bob Aper) McGeary of Perkins; Bonnie (Duane) Petrovich of Gladstone

14 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Lloyd, she was preceded in death by a son, Hal Brown, in 1963, a grand-daughter, Tammy Priebe, in 2001 and by 2 sisters, Myrtle and Marie.

The family of Betty J. Brown has scheduled visitation for Friday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. American Legion Auxiliary Services will be recited at 6:00 p.m. followed by remembrances from family members. Luncheon will follow at the Perkins-Lions Club in Perkins. Burial will be next to her husband in Perkins Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Brown Family.
