Lloyd J. Brown, age 80, of 1316 North 16th Street, Escanaba died unexpectedly Tuesday morning December 5, 2006 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Rehabilitation Department in Powers where he was a patient for the past week.
Lloyd was born February 2, 1926 in Escanaba, MI the son of Walter and Margaret (Papineau) Brown. He was raised in Escanaba where he attended the Escanaba High School. Lloyd served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Following his honorable discharge he was united in marriage on June 21, 1947 to the former Eileen “Dorothy Allard, and they made their home at their current location in Escanaba for the past 59 years.
Lloyd began his heating and sheet metal career working for Gehringer’s Heating and Sheet Metal and later formed his own company, Brown’s Heating and Sheet Metal, retiring in 1988. They also owned and operated out of their home Brown’s Tropiquarium for over 30 years. Lloyd was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and also the Escanaba V.F.W. He was an avid reader, hunter and fisherman, but he treasured most, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

3 Daughters: Bonnie (Bill) Sheedlo of Racine, WI; Judy (Alan) Howard of Escanaba; Barbara (Dave) McIntyre of Soo Hill, MI
1 Brother: David Hubert Brown of Escanaba
5 Grandchildren: Michelle Miller of Escanaba; Todd Sheedlo of Racine, WI; James (Heather Sarason) Miller Jr. of Cornell, MI; Tim (Becky) McIntyre of Escanaba; Ryan (Becky) Sheedlo of Racine
6 Great Grandchildren: Megan, Zadessa, Haley, Jacob, Emily and Delaney
Numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lloyd’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00PM to 6:45 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Delta County Veterans Council Military Rites will follow at 6:45 P.M. Funeral services celebrating the life of Lloyd J. Brown will follow at 7:00 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home with Rev. Emmett Norden officiating. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Brown family with arrangements.
