Alice Burnard
Resided in Escanaba, MI
Died December, 2006


Following a lengthy illness, Alice B. Burnard, 86, of 1410 Stephenson Avenue, Escanaba, Michigan, went to her eternal home.  For the past several years she has been a resident of the Bishop Noa Home. 

Alice, the daughter of Harry and Lottie (Willette) St. Cyr was raised, and attended school in Wells, Michigan.  In her younger years, she provided domestic help in Escanaba, and later worked at the Escanaba Steam Laundry.  On November 8th, 1941, Alice married Fred T. Burnard at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba.  The couple raised their daughter Darlene in Escanaba.  Throughout her life, Alice enjoyed camping, baking, fishing, sewing, playing cards, working in her yard and flower garden, and spending time with family and friends.  Alice is remembered for being a wonderful caregiver to her family, especially to her husband Fred in the later years of his life. 

Survivors include:

1 Daughter:  Darlene (Joseph) Clairmont Jr. of Gladstone, MI

4 Brothers:  Elmer St. Cyr of New London, WI; Harry C. St. Cyr of Appleton, WI; Ellsworth St. Cyr of Escanaba, MI; Chester St. Cyr

1 Grandchild:  Denise (Dan) Williams of Gladstone, MI

2 Great Grandchildren:  Kirsten and Kylie Williams

Survivors also include nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Harry and Lottie, and her husband, Fred, Alice was preceded in death by:

1 Sister:  Ernestine Dabney

1 Grandson:  Paul Clairmont

Family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00PM to 4:00PM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.  Mass celebrating the life of Alice B. Burnard will follow, at 4:00PM, at St. Thomas, with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating.  Luncheon will follow in the church parish hall.  Committal will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery, in Wells.  The family has requested that memorial gifts in Alice’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. Greater Michigan Chapter Upper Peninsula Region, 710 Chippewa Square, Suite 201, Marquette, MI 49855.  Envelopes will be available, on Monday, at the St. Thomas Catholic Church.  The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Burnard family with arrangements.
