Ramona M. Fournier, age 76, of 6723 N Road, died Sunday January 7th, 2007 at her home in Soo Hill with her family by her side.
Ramona was born on February 6, 1930, in Brampton, the daughter of Ray and Edith (Story) Sheffer. She was raised in Brampton and was a graduate of the Gladstone High School. On November 16, 1946, Ramona married Harvey Fournier at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Perkins. In 1955 the couple relocated to Soo Hill where they made their home and raised their children. Throughout her life Ramona worked primarily as a homemaker, keeping their family home and raising their three children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Ramona was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the St. Anthony Women’s Guild and the Delta County Home Extension. In later years, Ramona enjoyed traveling with her husband Harvey to destinations such as Florida, Arkansas and Arizona. Harvey and Ramona enjoyed 60 years of marriage together and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

2 Daughters: Sue (Mark) Bonno of Escanaba, MI; Karen Cappeart of Cornell, MI
1 Brother: Frank (Mary) Sheffer of Escanaba, MI
1 Sister: Olive Lemke of Saginaw, MI
7 Grandchildren: Tonya (Bob) Munroe, Tracy (Jim) Gendron, Doug, Brian and Craig Bonno and Justin and Daniel Cappeart
Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Edith, sister, Norma Lou Petersen and brother, Marvin Sheffer
The Fournier family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ramona M. Fournier will follow visitation, at 7:00PM, at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church parish hall. Committal will take place on Friday at 9:00AM at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
The Skradski Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Fournier family with arrangements.
