Madonna P. “Dibby” Kohnert, age 73, of 6015 Rivers 22nd Road; Gladstone (Escanaba Township), died Friday, January 5th, 2007 at home following a brief illness.

Dibby was born February 27th, 1933 in Escanaba, the daughter of Frank and Delima (Lehouillier) Rivers and resided all her life in the Gladstone area.

She was united in marriage to Gordon Kohnert in 1952 and he preceded her in death  in 1992.
In her leisure, she enjoyed gardening; particularly herbs, and also was known to like to crochet. Her family, however, remembers her as a loving, good mother who was always put her family’s welfare ahead of anything else. She was a member of All Saints Church.

6 Sons- Robert “Bob” (Sue) Kohnert of Wausau, WI; Don “Sam” (Julie) Kohnert of Gladstone; William “Billy” Kohnert of Gladstone; Steven (Gloria) Kohnert of Gladstone; Terry (Heather) Kohnert of Gladstone; Tracy Kohnert of Gladstone

1 Daughter- Victoria “Vicki” Kohnert of Gladstone

1 Brother- Arthur Rivers of Gaylord, MI

Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gordon, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas “Tommy” Kohnert in 1991.

The family of Madonna P. Kohnert will receive friends on Tuesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services celebrating “Dibby” life will follow on Tuesday at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Luncheon will follow services at All Saints Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Kohnert family
