Paul Douglas Godfrey, age 46, of 418 South 15th Street, died Monday morning April 2, 2007 at home unexpectedly.

Paul was born December 13, 1960 in Escanaba the son of Everett and Beverly (Congleton) Godfrey. He was raised in Gladstone and attended Holy Name School and was a graduate of the Gladstone High School. Paul worked for the Upper Great Lakes Coal Company in Gladstone for numerous years of which he was currently the Manager.

Paul was a member of the Gladstone American Legion Post #71 and he loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included walleye fishing, deer hunting, camping, boating and snowmobiling. Paul was an excellent cook and he also enjoyed working on automobiles. He was very good at repairing or fixing anything that was broken.

Paul’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 5:45 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Gladstone American Legion Post #71 services will follow at 5:45 P.M. Funeral services celebrating the life of Paul D. Godfrey will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home. Luncheon will follow services at the Gladstone American Legion Hall in Gladstone. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
