Lois Jean (Clausen) Cole, age 70, of 724 Delta Avenue, Gladstone, died Tuesday morning June 19, 2007, at the Christian Park Health Care Facility in Escanaba.

Lois was born May 27, 1937, in Escanaba, the daughter of Blaine and Jayne (Cole) Clausen. She was raised in Rapid River and attended and graduated from the Rapid River High School. Following her graduation, Lois married George Rappette Jr. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, in Flat Rock, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Brighton, MI. Lois eventually relocated back to the Gladstone area where she resided until her health began to fail, in May of 2007. Throughout her life, Lois worked primarily as a homemaker raising her family. She was a member of the Gladstone American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Tampa Florida Town and Country Auxiliary and the Brighton, MI PTA. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, baking, cooking and spending time with her loving family.

6 Brothers: Jerry (Darlene) Clausen of Gladstone, MI; James (Lena) Clausen of Brighton, MI; Edward Clausen of Ford River, MI; Bill Clausen of Gladstone, MI; Steve (Crystal) Clausen of Rapid River, MI; Larry (Marlene) Clausen of McFarland, MI

2 Sisters: Sharon Clausen of Escanaba, MI and Christine (Rob) Hall of Lansing, MI

Sister in law: Toni Clausen of Escanaba, MI

Also listed among the surviving family are Lois’ grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Lois Jean (Clausen) Cole will be held on Wednesday June 27, 2007, at 1:00PM, at the Silver Winds Church with Pastor Art Radlicki officiating. Luncheon will follow funeral services. Committal will be in the Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Cole family with arrangements.
