Judith Stemick

Judith Ann Stemick, age 61, of 656 Railway Avenue, Gladstone, MI died Thursday June 14, 2007 at her residence in Gladstone following a lengthy illness.

Judith was born December 11, 1945 in Escanaba the daughter of Adelore Joseph and Bernice Marie (DeLarie) LaCosse. She was raised in Perkins and Gladstone and she graduated from the Gladstone High School. Following graduation she attended Beauty School and she was a lifelong resident of Delta County.

Judith was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone and she loved reading her bible. She was an avid gardener and she spent many hours tending to her flowers. Her children and grandchildren always looked forward to receiving her many crafts that she made for them. Along with making her crafts, she enjoyed scrap-booking and collecting memorabilia. She was a wonderful grandmother and sister and she was always proud of her grandchildren’s accomplishments and spending time with her sister’s. She treasured spending time outdoors enjoying nature or spending time on her stamp collection.

1 step son: Jeremy Joseph Stemick of Gladstone

2 daughters:
Shari (John) Johnson of Rapid River
Angela Marie (Bob) Multhaupt of Gulliver

2 brothers:
Wayne (Sandy) LaCosse of Escanaba
Daniel (Donna) LaCosse of Escanaba

2 sisters:
Lorraine Porath of Perkins
Darlene (Carl) Carlson of Gladstone

6 grandchildren: Adam Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Emily Johnson, Ryan Griggs, Ashley Griggs and Elizabeth Multhaupt.

Numerous nieces and nephews

Her beloved companion for the last 17 years, Mittens.

In addition to her parents she was preceded was in death by a sister, Jane Brazeau and brother, Adelore Joseph LaCosse.

Judith’s family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Judith Ann Stemick will follow at 6:30 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. Committal services will follow at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. A luncheon will follow graveside services at the Grace Baptist Church.
