Jennie Margaret Winchester, age 89, of Pine Haven Subdivision in Gladstone passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. Jennie was born December 6, 1917 in Stonington, MI the daughter of John and Alice Leadman.
Jennie was united in marriage to Clarence “Bud” Winchester on January 18, 1941 in Escanaba. They were lifelong residents of Escanaba where they raised their 3 children. In her younger years, Jennie worked as a housekeeper for various families in Escanaba. She enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers, cooking and baking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jennie also enjoyed attending the Christian Women’s Club.

1 Daughter: Vicki (Bill) Lenca of Menominee
1 Brother: Robert (Delores) Leadman of Stonington
2 Sisters: Dorothy Erickson of Gladstone and Alda (Arne) Anderson of Gladstone
5 Grandchildren: Jeffrey (Amy) Lenca of Menominee; Chad (Kristen) Lenca of Owings Mills, Maryland; Brian (Melissa) Winchester of Green Bay, WI; Brad Winchester of Gladstone, MI; Jennifer McGlothen of Apopka, FL
5 Great Grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, Brandon, Katherine and Ella
Numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Bud” Winchester on February 22, 2007, a daughter, Patty Lou Machiliak in 2002, her parents and two sisters, Mildred Nye and Ethel Helman.
Jennie’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jennie M. Winchester will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating.
A luncheon will follow across the street at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Burial will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
