Shirley Eileen Shafer, age 81, of 1215 Willow Creek Road, Escanaba passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007 at her home.
Shirley was born March 19, 1926 in Brampton, MI to George and Madeline (McKnight) Moreau. She was a lifelong resident of the Gladstone and Escanaba areas and a longtime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba. She was very active with the church and often taught Sabbath School. Shirley worked for Zimmerman’s Sewing Factory for many years, Wickert’s Floral Shop and as a clerk at JCPenney until she retired. She was married to George Shaffer and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial Services celebrating Shirley’s life will be Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 12:00 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba with Rev. John Glass officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following services. Shirley will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
