Harry E. Bagley, age 72, of 1812 7th Avenue North, Escanaba, died Friday evening August 24, 2007 at the Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.
Harry was born July 3, 1935, in Bedford, PA, the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Grace) Bagley. He was raised in Bedford and attended the Bedford school system. On August 16, 1952, Harry exchanged wedding vows with the former Carol Troxel, at Geyer’s Chapel in Wooster, OH and together the couple made their home in Smithville, OH where Harry worked as a truck driver until his enlistment in the U.S. Army in 1960. Over the next 18 years, Harry made a career as an enlisted Army soldier and received medals of accommodation which included the National Defense Service Medal, Motor Vehicle Safe Driver Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Silver Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm in addition to several other decorations throughout his Army enlistment. Following his discharge in 1978, Harry returned to Ohio, residing there until 1986, at which time, he relocated to Escanaba and acquired a truck driving position for Moniowczak Transit Company (M.T.C.) where he remained until his retirement in 1994. Harry enjoyed spending time with his loving family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

3 Daughters: Brenda Brake of Shreve, OH; Rita Matson of Escanaba, MI; Lorrie Lazear of Escanaba, MI
2 Grandchildren: Sandra (Wes) Forrest; Jaimie (Tim) Burkhart
4 Great Grandchildren: Anthony, Drake, Parker and Rex
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Walter and Elizabeth, and his step-mother, Viola, Harry was preceded in death by, son, Randy, brother, George, sisters, Esther, Mary Etta, Elsie May and step-sister, Genevieve.
The Bagley family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Harry E. Bagley will follow visitation, at 4:00PM, at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home, with Pastor Mary Laub of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Luncheon will follow funeral services at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Bagley family with arrangements.
