Madelyn M. Rushford, age 90, of Rapid River, died Wednesday morning August 15, 2007 at her daughter Mary’s residence in Gladstone where she was currently residing.
Madelyn was born January 20, 1917 in Rapid River the daughter of Reuben Joseph and Emily Elizabeth (Francis) Boyer. She was raised in Rapid River and was a 1935 graduate of the Rapid River High School. Madelyn was united in marriage on July 22, 1939 in Rapid River to Morley A. Rushford. They made their home in Rapid River where they raised their four children. Morley preceded her in death on June 7, 1986.
Madelyn enjoyed picnicking, working in her flower garden, going to deer camp, reading, watching TV, and shopping. She especially treasured time spent visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Morley J. “Jr” (Monica) Rushford of Rapid River

Emily Y. Miron of Rapid River
Mary M. (Robert) Olson of Gladstone
18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren
Numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband Morley Sr., she was preceded in death by:
Daughter at birth: Patricia Ann
Grandson: Daniel Hickey in 1978
4 brothers: Jack, Frank, Cletus, and Sam.
3 sisters: Agnes Madlinski, Exzilda Maurer and Irene Cavill
According to Madelyn’s wishes, no visitation or public services will be held. Private graveside services at the Rapid River Cemetery with Rev. William Rafuse of the Rapid River Congregational Church officiating will be held on Saturday August 25, 2007.
