Richard J. “Dick” Cole, age 72, of 528 Montana Ave; Gladstone, died suddenly Saturday, September 1st, 2007 of an apparent heart attack. He had been in failing health in recent years.
Born March 26th, 1935 in Gladstone, the son of Lester and Dorothy (Forvilly) Cole, Dick has been a life-long Gladstone resident.
Dick married the former Carol A. Wiza on July 21st, 1967 and she survives.
He was employed for 31 years for Harnischfeger Corporation in Escanaba and retired as a fork-lift operator in 1983.
Dick appreciated going to casinos in his leisure which gave him an avenue to be with and socialize with people which was also an important part of his personality. In addition, Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards, especially, “Smear”. He will be sadly missed by his family and his friends.

A daughter, Lynn (Gary) Schmidt of Gladstone
A sister, Bonnie (Everette) Robinson of Gladstone
And nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death his parents and by an infant grand-daughter, “Jamie” in 1992 and numerous other family members.
The family of Richard J. “Dick” Cole will receive friends on Wednesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services celebrating Dick’s life will follow on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery.
