Susan J. Peterson, age 68, of 1223 Dakota Avenue, Gladstone, died Wednesday afternoon September 5, 2007, at the Marquette General Hospital following a brief illness.
Susan was born March 22, 1939, in Clarks-Mill, WI, the daughter of George and Blanche (McCulley) Schuh. She was raised in Clarks-Mill and attended and graduated from the Valders High School. On July 20, 1957, Susan was united in marriage to Owen Peterson at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Clarks-Mill, and together the couple relocated to Flint, MI where they made their home and began their family. In 1969, Susan and Owen moved to Gladstone where Susan worked and retired, after thirty plus years of employment, for C.U.P.P.A.D (Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development). Throughout her life, Susan was deeply dedicated to the All Saints Catholic Church. Her involvement included, Church laundry and cleaning, Sunday coffee socials, making Baptismal Garments, Scholarship Committee, Liturgy Commission, Education Commission, Welcome Home Catholics Program, Bible Study Group, Funeral Luncheon Committee Chairperson, Communion Minister to the sick and homebound and ushering. In addition, Susan belonged to the City of Gladstone Planning Commission, Reading Buddies at the Cameron Elementary School, Child’s Welfare Club and enjoyed spending time with her loving family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Susan J. Peterson will be remembered for her sincere dedication to the Gladstone community and is dearly loved by family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

9 Grandchildren: Susan, Cassie, Meaghan, Amanda, Sam, Ben, Hannah, Grace and Emma
4 Great Grandchildren: Taytem, Kelsey, Hailey and Caleb
Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Peterson family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Susan J. Peterson will follow, on Monday, at 11:00AM, at the All Saints Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall. Committal will be in the Fernwood Cemetery, located in Gladstone. Contributions in Susan’s name may be directed to the Barrier Free Project of All Saint Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski Funeral Home during visitation and the All Saints Catholic Church throughout funeral services. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Peterson family with arrangements.
