He retired at the age of seventy from the Holly Corporation Oil Terminal in Wells and spent his retirement years running his resort, tending to his lawn and marina, tinkering in the garage, running errands and keeping his guests, who became lifelong friends, happy. George dedicated a total of fifty three wonderful years to his peaceful resort and will be remembered for the impact he had on people throughout the years of owning and operating his cabins in Kipling. Many of the friendships that began with his cabin visitors, continued long after the closure of the Stemac Bay View Cabins.
