Lillian S. “Sis” Beauchamp, age 83, of 3697 County 416 20th Road; Gladstone (Flat Rock area) died Monday October 1st, 2007 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where she was a patient for the previous week.
“Sis” was born September 9th, 1924 in Escanaba, the daughter of Charles and Barbara (Lehman) Makosky and was raised in the Riverland area. In 1952, she married Richard C. Beauchamp at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock and he preceded her in death in 1990.
“Sis” and Richard made their home in Flat Rock on the family farm for many years. In addition, she was employed at the Riverland School as a cook and was also engaged as a waitress for “Tommy’s Restaurant” and the “Mayflower Restaurant” in Escanaba for a period of time. Furthermore, “Sis” worked for the “Maple Hill Fur Farm” for a while which was owned by the Sturdy family.
“Sis” Beauchamp was a member of the Salem Evangelical Church of Escanaba and had a number of hobbies and pastimes she enjoyed doing. They include, crocheting, sewing, doing word-puzzles, watching sports on television, bird-watching and flower gardening. Her family fondly remembers her avidly collecting angels and her fascination with the television game show, “Wheel of Fortune”. They particularly remember her love of family and all the good-times they celebrated with her during their lives.

2 Sons: Michael (Karla) Beauchamp of Flat Rock; Roger (Tammie) Beauchamp of Flat Rock
1 Daughter: Carol Flemal of Cedar River, MI
2 Brothers: Charles “Chuck” (Marcella) McKosky of Gladstone; Robert (Noella) Makosky of Big Rapids, WI
1 Sister: Emily Sacheck of Escanaba
6 Grandchildren: Shellie Mitchell; Thomas Flemal; Melissa Beauchamp; Travis Beauchamp: Rebecca Beauchamp; and Kristine Beauchamp
and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Richard Beauchamp, she was preceded in death by:
Three brothers: Eugene Harold; John Makosky
Two sisters: Elsie Zevenbergen; Shirley Beauchamp.
The family of “Sis” Beauchamp will receive friends on Saturday at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba from 2:00 P.M. TO 4:00 P.M. Services celebrating her life will follow on Saturday at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Doletzky officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be on Monday at the Escanaba Township Cemetery; Flat Rock.
