Jerame James Harrington, age 20, of E4968 M-35, died peacefully at his home in Ford River following a lengthy illness.
Jerame was born, October 2, 1987, in Escanaba, the son of James and Mary (Ethier) Harrington. He was raised in Escanaba and was a 2006 graduate of the Escanaba Senior High School. Over the course of his high school years, Jerame courageously battled through two liver transplants and multiple hours at the University of Michigan Children’s Hospital. After four and one half years and two successful liver transplants, Jerame’s neighboring organ systems quietly declined. Jerame did not die due to his liver transplant; his transplant gave him, and his family, four and one half years of precious life. Surrounded by his loving family, the kind hearted, soft-spoken young man with his loving and caring nature died peacefully at his home in Ford River. Following his death, the Harrington family wanted to extend Jerame’s passionate thoughts on the importance of organ donation saying that he felt it was the ultimate gift of life. Jerame was a past member of the YMCA Delta Dolphins Swim Team. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. He loved to ride his bike and hang out with his dog Molly. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Jerame is survived by his loving parents, James and Mary:
1 Brother: Nick Harrington of Ford River, MI
Maternal Grandmother: Lorraine Ethier of Escanaba, MI
Paternal Grandmother: Ida Harrington of Crystal Falls, MI
Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by:
