Rex. A. Aicher, age 71, passed away Monday, December 10, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI. He was born on December 29, 1935 in Barron, WI; son of the late Clarence and Mae (Dorn) Aicher. Rex graduated from the Gladstone High School in 1954. He served his country for four years with the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 35 years with the Soo Line Railroad, retiring in January of 1996. In retirement, he enjoyed riding his bicycle, yard work and gardening. Rex is survived by his children, Mark (Tracy) Aicher, Honolulu, HI; Jeff (Renee’) Aicher, Bucyrus, OH; Robin (Chad) Abel, Appleton, WI and Jenny (Jeff) DuVall, Skandia, MI; his brothers and sisters, Donna (Stan) Pyke, Rapid River; Larry (Sharon) Aicher, Bonita Springs, FL; Ted (Kay) Aicher, Kenosha, WI; Marilyn (Chuck) Gendron and Butch (Marilyn) Aicher; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Douglas and Keith Aicher and by a sister, Betty Boden.
Rex’s family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 to 5:45 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military rites conducted by the Gladstone American Legion will follow at 5:45 PM.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Rex A. Aicher will follow at 6:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow of All Saints Church officiating. Interment will be held in Fernwood Cemetery, Gladstone, MI.
