Blanche Barron

Died December 5, 2007

Blanche Virginia Barron, age 84, of Gladstone passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
 
Blanche was born December 25, 1922 in Escanaba to Peter and Virginia (Laurent) Robar. She was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” Clifford Barron on October 4, 1940 in Detroit. Blanche worked with Ray as a bookkeeper in the family business, Barron Bottle Gas, for many years. Her and Ray loved traveling in their motor home, camping and square dancing. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, upholstery, arts and crafts, painting and decorating her house. She was very creative and a wonderful cook. She was a caretaker by nature, tending to and looking after many members of her family. Blanche was a long time member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock where she served on the Altar Society for many years. She also taught 4-H and was a Cub Scout leader.
 
Survivors include:

2 Daughters: Sandra (Al) Gareau of Flat Rock, MI; Judy (Mike) LaFleur of Gladstone, MI

2 Sons: Tom Barron of Poulsbo, Washington; Terry (Patti) Barron of Gladstone, MI

Brother-In-Law: Richard “Dick” Barron of Escanaba

9 Grandchildren: Michael (Jan) Gareau of Holland, MI; Jeffrey Gareau of McComb Township, MI; Heidi (Izzy) Chouinard of Livonia, MI; Michelle (Mitch) Taylor of Gladstone, MI; Kristy LaFleur of Escanaba, MI; Tim LaFleur of Manitowoc, WI; Jacob Barron of Poulsbo, Washington; Racheal Barron of Poulsbo, Washington; Trista Barron of Escanaba, MI

7 Great Grandchildren: Mitchell, Sarah and Jacob Gareau; Hunter and Kendall Taylor; Brendin and Conner Barron

Blanche was preceded in death by:

Her husband, Ray on September 23, 2005, her parents

4 Sisters: Ida Messier, Florence Anderson, Harriet Arsenault and Edna Hardy

1 Brother: Felix Robar
 
Blanche’s family will receive friends on Sunday, December 9 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM on Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 10 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Rev. Father Jose Maramattan officiating. A luncheon will follow mass in the church fellowship hall. Blanche will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
