Beatrice M. “Bea” Brock, age 90, of 523 North 11th Street; Gladstone, died Sunday, December 30th, 2007 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where she was a patient for the previous four years.
Bea was born at the family home located in the “Chemical Plant Location” of Wells Township. on January 11th, 1917, the daughter of Charles and Ida (Burdick) Erfourth and moved to Gladstone at age nine with her family where she resided since. Bea later married Victor L. Brock and he preceded her in death in 1996.
In addition to being a member of All Saints Church, Bea enjoyed cooking and baking, and was an avid walker. Her grandchildren, however, were a special source of joy and happiness to her.
Bea Brock survivors include:
2 Sons- Harry Brock of Palm Desert, CA; David “Knocker” (Lynn) Brock of Gladstone
2 Sisters- Ruthie Blake of Hyde; Bertha (Walter) Benson of Marquette
6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her husband, and an infant daughter, Beverly, Bea was preceded in death by a grandchild, Tony Brock. She was also preceded by three brothers; Louis, Gordon, and Thomas Erfourth, and by three sisters;
Mabel Mickelson, Mary Peterson, and Maude Demick.
The family of Bea Brock will receive friends on Thursday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services celebrating her life will follow on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will follow service in the All Saints Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes are assisting the Brock family
