Donna M. Soderman, age 76, of 6101 Days River 24.5 Road; Gladstone (Brampton Twp.) died unexpectedly on Monday, December 17th, 2007, at home of an apparent heart attack.
The former Donna Gudwer was born November 29th, 1931 in Spruce, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Alma (Bunker) Gudwer and resided in Spruce until moving to the Perkins area with her family as a young girl.

After her marriage to David C. Soderman on September 2nd, 1950, she relocated to the Days River area where she resided since. David passed away December 12th, 1996.

Donna was well known as a food caterer in the area for many years and instituted the celebrated “Soderman Fishfrys” over 40 years ago. She will always be recalled as a friendly individual and as a person that was easy to be around and Donna will especially considered as a special mother and grandmother, which was her greatest source of happiness and enjoyment. She will be missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Donna was of the Lutheran faith.

Donna Soderman’s survivors include:

4 Sons-Steve (Mary) Soderman of the Days River area; Karl (Colleen) Soderman of Rapid River; Chris (Amber) Soderman of the Days River area; Craig Soderman of the Days River area

1 Daughter- Lisa (David) Trott of the Rapid River area

1 Brother- Francis Gudwer of Perkins

1 Sister- Carol Berg of Gladstone

12 Grandchildren- Steve Soderman, Jr., Mike Soderman, Dan Soderman, Troy Soderman, Karl Soderamn, Jr., Karleen Thorbahn, Kyle Soderman, Rachel Soderman, Claire Soderman, Sarah Soderman, Gus Soderman, and David Soderman.

4 Great-grandchildren: Shelbie Soderman, Jack Soderman, Ryder Soderman, and Trevor Soderman.

She is also survived by numerous niecs and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, David, she was preceded in death by infant triplets; David, Daniel, and Dale; 2 year old daughter, Debra Jean; 1 year old son, Donald; and by an infant son, Allan. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Bob Gudwer.

The family of Donna M. Soderman will receive friends on Saturday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m. Services celebrating Donna’s life will follow on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt officiating. Luncheon will follow services at the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery on Sunday.
