Thomas Srock
Resided in Gladstone, MI
Died December 31, 2007

Thomas A. Srock, age 76, of 5056 County 416 20th Road; Gladstone Flat Rock area, passed away on Monday, December 31st, 2007 at Marquette General Hospital surrounded by family.

Tom was born October 5th, 1931 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, the son of Toney and Margaret (Dube) Srock and was a life-long Flat Rock area resident. Two months after graduating from the Escanaba High School in 1950, he began his employment with Mead Paper Company (New Page). He retired in 1992 as an electrical foreman and was employed at Mead for 42 years except for his three year enlistment with the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1954.

On May 12th, 1956, Tom married the former Dorothy M. Waeghe at All Saints Church and Tom and Dorothy have lived and raised their five children in Flat Rock. He was a family man and his grandchildren were so important to him.

Tom Srock was a devout Roman Catholic and was an active member of Holy Family Church in Flat Rock and had served on the Parish Council and was a member of the Holy Family Mens’ Club. Tom actually lived his faith and quietly volunteered at the St. Vincent De Paul Society in Escanaba in addition to assisting anyone who he believed needed a “helping hand” with his own time, talent, or treasury.

Tom enjoyed going to his camp in the Round Lake area and was known by family and friends as a “gentleman farmer” at his current residence on County 416 Road. Working hard, enthusiastically, and diligently came natural to Tom and as his family remembers, his ability to out-work anyone of them at any point of time.

Tom’s infectious smile, twinkling eyes, and his gentle non-judgmental unassuming personality will be missed but he unknowingly left a legacy on how to live and treat one-another.

Tom Srock survivors include:

His wife of over 51 years, Dorothy,

5 Children: Steve (Lorraine) Srock of Gladstone; Cindy Srock of Denver, Colorado; Lori (Doug) Sundlof of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Margie (Mike) McFarland of Millersville, Maryland; Jean (Kerry) Fisher of North Salt Lake City, Utah

Grandchildren: Amber, Amy , and Arean Srock, Cole and Jordan Sundlof, Ryan, Morgan, and Niklas McFarland, Katherine, Rebecca, Thomas, and Matthew Fisher,
