Thomas Belongie

Thomas R. Belongie, 68, of 1065 Desert Acacia, Bullhead City, Az 86429 , died  unexpectedly on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City.
 
Mr. Belongie was born January 5, 1940 in Escanaba, son of the late Tony and Blanche Belongie.  He was raised in the Gladstone area, attended All Saints and Gladstone Public School’s and enlisted in the U.S Navy after high school.  On July 28, 1962, he married the former Phyllis Martin at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Escanaba.  She preceded him in death on July 31, 2003.  Tom loved to travel and spent time at his condo in Bullhead City.  While there, he subsequently met and married the former Nancy Rismoen on October 16, 2004.  She survives him.
 
Tom worked for Laborers Local 1329 for nearly 30 years as a construction laborer.  He was a former member of the Rapid River Lions Club, St. Charles Catholic Church and a present member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Bullhead City.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, boating, fishing, hunting, travel and going to the casinos with Nancy. Tom was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan.  He enjoyed his past experience talking with people from all over the world as a ham radio operator. That experience led to his love of many gadgets found in modern day technology such as his IPod's, MP3 Player, electronic weather station, digital camers and TV's.
 
He leaves his wife Nancy; a son Alan (friend Cindi) of Aurora, Colorado; a daughter Mary (Jeff) Dunlap of Alpena, Michigan and a son Thomas Jr. of Lake Forest, California; three grandchildren, Tyler, Michael and Jeremy of California; a brother Bob (Patti) of Iron Mountain; a brother Michael (Cindy) of St. Jacques; a step-daughter Donna Novy of Bullhead City; step-son Daniel Novy of Minneapolis and step grandchildren Alysia Vittorio; Madison Novy; Carlene, Jenene and Carson Novy; and many nieces and nephews.
 
In  addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter JoAnn in 1976.
 
Tom's remains were cremated at the Desert Lawn Funeral Chapel in Bullhead City.  A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Charles Catholic Church in Rapid River on Tuesday February 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Luncheon will follow services at the St. Charles Parish Hall.  Burial will be in Garden's of Rest in Wells.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rapid River Lions Club in Tom's memory.
