Helen M. Norstrom, age 99, of 1209 Michigan Avenue; Gladstone passed away on Friday, January 18th, 2008 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where she was a patient for the previous six years.
Helen was born December 3rd, 1908 in Rapid River, the daughter of Napoleon and Elizabeth (O’Brian) Boudah and was raised in the Rapid River area. She attended and graduated from the Rapid River School System and permanently relocated to Gladstone after her marriage to Hilding Norstrom on June 29th, 1935. Hilding preceded her in death 18 years to the day, on January 18th, 1990.
Helen was a member of All Saints Church, and the Gladstone Friends of the Library. She also was a former member of the Gladstone Golf Course, Gladstone Ski Club, and the Gladstone Study Club. She and her husband had successfully owned and operated a number of business concerns in Delta County through the years, including the well known “Dutch Mill” north of Rapid River on US Hwy 41.

nieces; Connie (Richard) Winkowski of Milton, Florida; Nancy Evans of Palatine, Illinois
1 Sister; Irene Frank of Waite Park, Minnesota
In addition to her parents and her husband, Hilding, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie and Napoleon “Pollie” Boudah; one sister, Patricia Evans, and by a nephew, Thomas Evans.
Visitation will be held on Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Services celebrating her life will follow on Monday at 12:00 Noon at the Skradski Funeral Home with Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Luncheon will follow services at the “Log Cabin” in Gladstone. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
