Bernice "Bea" Roman, age 91, of Rapid River passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Bernice was born October 13, 1916 in Escanaba, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Dumas) Caron. She graduated from the Escanaba High School in 1935. She was united in marriage to the late Oliver Roman at the Dell’s Supper Club. Bernice enjoyed nature and being outdoors, especially spending time at her place at Pole Lake, her flowers and feeding the birds. She loved all animals, but most importantly her cat, Chester. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, casual reading and crossword puzzles.

2 Grandchildren: Steven Nault of Stonington, MI; Duane (Jenny) Nault of Gladstone
2 Great Grandchildren: Devin and Tristen
Her sister: Lorraine Fletcher of Escanaba, MI
Numerous nieces and nephews
Special friends: Shirley and Bob Bero and Dorothy Denoo
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver on April 15, 1995, her parents, 3 brothers, Herman, Don and Walter Caron.
The Roman family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A luncheon will be served following services at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Escanaba. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Delta County Animal Shelter.
