Harry T. Lancour, age 81, of 4012 21st Road; Gladstone (Flat Rock area) passed away on Sunday, February 24th, 2008 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers following a brief illness.
Harry was born January 3rd, 1927 in Escanaba, the son of Clyde and Dorina (Charbonneau) Lancour and was a lifelong resident of Flat Rock. In his early working years, he served in the Merchant Marines. Harry later was engaged in dairy farming much of his working life, and additionally was employed as a bus driver for the Gladstone School System. Harry retired in that capacity in 1989 after 33 years of service.
Harry Lancour married the former Laura Jean Hoes on June 13th, 1953 at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock and “Jean” survives and they both have remained faithful members of the Holy Family Parish.
In addition to camping and fishing, Harry enjoyed playing league softball as a catcher with the “White Birch” team of Flat Rock. He was also a member of the Holy Family Smear League, Escanaba Pool League, and had also participated in local dart-ball teams through the years.
Family and friends remember Harry being a hard worker all his life, spending countless hours in his chosen profession and as a man who loved his family.

1 Daughter- Cheryl (Ted) Smith of Cornell
1 Brother- Victor (Jane) Lancour of Omro, WI
3 Sisters- Jeannette Frazer of Escanaba, Betty Anzalone of Escanaba, Rosella (Tom) Mulvanny of Wautoma, WI
3 Grandchildren- Danielle and Shawn Thompson, and Amy (Jason) Hawkins,
5 great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Leo Lancour.
The family of Harry T. Lancour will receive friends on Thursday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 2: 00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock with Rev. Fr. Jose Maramattan officiating. Everyone is invited to luncheon following services in the parish hall. Entombment will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery; Wells. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Lancour family.
