Dorothy M. Trudeau, age 83, of Gladstone passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 at her home.
Dorothy was born April 9, 1924 in Gladstone to Frank and Rose (Hoffman) Royer. She was a lifelong resident of Gladstone and a longtime and faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church. Dorothy was united in marriage to Leo Trudeau on October 28, 1944 at the All Saints Catholic Church. Dorothy and Leo enjoyed a union of 53 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo, playing cards, biking, music, traveling and fishing with Leo and taking care of children, especially babies. Dorothy’s family was always important to her and she cherished the times her family would spend together.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Leo on February 17, 1997; her son, John Edward in 1973; her parents, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
She is survived by:
2 Daughters: Gail Marie Bartels of Gladstone, Pamela Ann (Harvey) Bachtel of Port Clinton, OH
6 Grandchildren: Brad Beck, Pam (Michael) Creech, John Beck, Ken (Jennifer) Sorg,
Michael (Hollie) Sorg and Angela (Kim) Auxter
9 Great Grandchildren: Aaron, Katelyn, Zachary, Tristan, Elliott, Owen, Emma, Kate, Anna
Numerous nieces and nephews
The Trudeau family will receive friends on Monday, March 3 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:00 PM at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow, officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following services in the church fellowship hall. Dortohy will be laid to rest next to husband at the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s name may be directed to the All Saints Church Elevator Fund.
