Chester “Chet” Anderson, age 71, of 5730 17.5 Oak Park Drive, died Friday March 7, 2008, at his home in Wells, of an apparent heart attack.
Chester was born March 7, 1937, in Wells, MI, the son of Louis and Elsie (Klemp) Anderson. He was raised in Wells and attended and graduated from the Escanaba Senior High School in 1956. Following his years in high school, Chet went on to work for the Harnischfeger Corporation before eventually enlisting in the United States Army, serving from 1959 to 1961. After his honorable discharge in 1961, Chet returned home where he continued to work for Harnischfeger until his retirement in 1983. Chet was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church in Escanaba. He enjoyed being involved in church activities, making pasties and volunteering for the Sunday morning worship radio broadcast for Central United Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors spending time gardening, hunting and fishing. In addition, Chet enjoyed watching various sporting events and cheering for the Detroit Lions.

2 Brothers: Donald Anderson of Escanaba, MI, Richard (Gladys) Anderson of Wells, MI
Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.

The Anderson family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Chester “Chet” Anderson will follow visitation, at 5:00PM, at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Harmon of the Central United Methodist Church officiating. Luncheon will follow funeral services at the Central United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Military rites, conducted by the Delta Country Veteran’s Council and committal services will take place on Wednesday, at 10:00AM, at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. Memorial contributions in Chet’s name may be directed to Public TV Channel 13. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Anderson family with arrangements.
