Betty Jackovich

Died March 30, 2008


Betty Lou Jackovich, age 80, of Bayview Manor in Gladstone passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
 
Betty was born June 4, 1927 in Escanaba to William and Caroline (Norden) Miner. Betty grew up in Wells but spent most of her life living in Gladstone following her marriage to Alvin Jackovich on December 31, 1944 at the All Saints Catholic Church. Betty and Alvin celebrated a union that lasted over 63 years. They enjoyed outings and Sunday drives in the country with their dog, Tiny. Not only did Betty enjoy spending time with her husband but the rest of her family as well. They were extremely important to her. Betty was a devoted catholic and enjoyed volunteering and could often be seen at the Senior Center and the Community Action Agency in Gladstone.  She also worked as a nurse’s aid, enjoyed bird watching and was a true friend and confidant.
 
Including her husband, Alvin, survivors include:
2 Sons: James (Marie) Jackovich of Green Bay, WI, Richard (Terri) Jackovich of Bark River, MI
2 grandchildren
4 great grandchildren
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Arleen DeMarse
 
The Jackovich family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will follow at 6:00  PM at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. A luncheon, immediately following services, will be announced later. Betty will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery.
