Leslie “Dutch” Peterson, age 93, of Escanaba passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
Dutch was born October 20, 1914 in Escanaba to Gunnar and Eva (Papineau) Peterson. He was the Class President of the 1935 graduating class from the Escanaba High School. Dutch married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Johnson on March 2, 1940 in Escanaba. They just recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Dutch was a longtime and faithful member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba and was also a Past President of Golden K Kiwanis. He retired from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as a switchman. He enjoyed playing sports such as football, softball, baseball, bowling and golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 6 sisters.
Funeral services for Dutch will be Thursday, March 13 at 4:00 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba with Pastor Paul Mai officiating. The Peterson family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Dutch’s name may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church.
