Theresa R. Scheriff, age 95, of 1020 9th Avenue South, Escanaba passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

Theresa was born August 28, 1912 in Marinette, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob and Catherine(Rebarchik) Dura. She was united in marriage to Herbert Scheriff on May 25, 1936. Together they spent many years in the Escanaba area. Theresa was a very faithful Catholic and was a longtime member of the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parishes in Escanaba. Theresa enjoyed working at the church and served on numerous committees. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cooking, baking and needlework. Theresa was a great mother and a beautiful lady who loved life and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Scheriff in January 1996; a son, Anthony Scheriff, a daughter, Jeanne Mary Scheriff, her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

The Scheriff family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20 from12:00 PM to 2:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating Theresa’s life will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall of the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. Theresa will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
