Eric R. Tourangeau, age 28, of 4335 County 416 20th Road Gladstone (Flat Rock area), passed away on Friday, March 14th, 2008 as a result of a auto accident that occurred that day in the LaBranch area while he was traveling to work.
Eric was born March 4th, 1980 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, the son of Robert J. Tourangeau, Jr, and the former Lori J. Hunter and Eric was a lifelong Flat Rock resident. After graduating Gladstone High School in 1999, he attended Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba and received an Associate Degree in Science/ Biology. Eric later received a BA Degree from Northern Michigan University in Marquette in Environmental Science/Biology. He was currently employed for SCSI with E&LS Railroad. While growing up and pursuing his higher education, Eric proudly worked with his family on their dairy farm, Tourangeau Dairy, in Flat Rock.
Eric was a member of Holy Family Church in Flat Rock where he also served as an usher and a member of Holy Family Men’s Club. He was a member of the Rusty Rail Pool League and the White Birch Dart Club. Being an outdoors person, Eric enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing In addition, he enjoyed golfing, playing poker, and the sport of paint-balling. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Eric was known as a hard-working individual and possessing a natural trait of helping people with anything, large or small. He will be strongly missed by all who knew him and will be loved forever by his family.

Paternal grandparents, Art and Betty Lou Tourangeau of Flat Rock
Maternal grandmother, Ember Smith of Flat Rock,
and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Tourangeau, August 6th, 2001 and by his maternal grandfather, Alvin Hunter.
The family of Eric Tourangeau will receive friends on Wednesday at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Eric’s life will follow at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church with Rev. Fr. John Tourangeau and Rev. Fr. Jose Joseph Maramattam officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the Holy Family Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Escanaba Township Cemetery; Flat Rock.
