John Clifford Mosier, age 78, of 6244 32nd Road, Rapid River, MI died Wednesday April 16, 2008 at the Iron Mountain Veterans Hospital following a lengthy illness.
John was born June 6, 1929 in Masonville Twp. the son of Dorothy Mosier. He was raised in the Rapid River/Perkins area and attended the Perkins Public Schools.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955 and he received the Purple Heart. On July 31, 1954, John married Betty L. Zierk in Chicago. While living in Illinois, he was employed with Rusknic Furniture and “Sears & Roebuck”.
In 1971, he and his wife, Betty, permanently relocated to their vacation home in the Perkins area. Together with his wife, they owned and operated “Warner Candy Co.” for many years which served a wide territory in the Upper Peninsula until their retirement. They enjoyed traveling and camping with their friends. John was a member of the Perkins Senior Citizen Satellite Center, and the Rock Area Senior Citizen Center. John took pleasure in agitating people, and he will be remembered as a fun-loving individual with a good sense of humor, and as a person who was willing to assist anyone who asked.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty on February 15, 2007.
John’s family will receive friends on Saturday April 19, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:45 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Delta County Veteran Council Military Rites will follow at 3:45 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of John Clifford Mosier will follow on Saturday at 4:00 PM with Rev. Devon Barrix of the Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. A luncheon will follow services at the Gladstone American Legion Post #71.
