Margaret Mattson

Margaret “Peg” Mattson, age 83, of 6338 M.3 Lane, Escanaba passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Christian Park Health Care Center.
 
Peg was born November 20, 1924 in Menominee to Harry and Frances (Sobieski) McPherson. Peg’s family moved to the Escanaba area when she was a child. She would later graduate from the Escanaba High School. Peg married Harold Mattson on June 15, 1946 in Escanaba and together they shared a union of 62 years. She worked as a stenographer for the Corp of Engineers in Escanaba and in Milwaukee and also with the Farmer’s Home Administration. She later worked as a lunchroom aide at the Escanaba Junior High School until she retired. She was a member of the Agape Ministries Church in Escanaba for over 20 years and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing bridge. She had a great sense of humor even in her final days. A wife, a mother, grand and great she’ll always be.
 
Including her husband, Harold, survivors include:
2 Sons: Patrick (Raeanne) Mattson of Escanaba, David (Jenny) Mattson of Wilson
5 Grandchildren
3 Great Grandchildren
3 Sisters: Jean (Robert) Sullivan of Cromwell, Connecticut; Lou (Dan) Vandegna of Texas; Patricia Pipkorn of Escanaba

Nieces and nephews
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Ann McPherson
 
Peg’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Art Kievet officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following services at the Agape Ministries Church in Escanaba. Peg will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
