Arthur "Art" Tourangeau, age 83, of 4335 County 416 20th Road, Gladstone (Flat Rock) died Tuesday evening May 6, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Art was born on December 17, 1924 to Arthur and Valentine (Charboneau) Tourangeau Sr. He was the seventh eldest of eleven children. On November 10, 1951 he married Elizabeth (Betty Lou) Massard at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba. Art was a farmer all his life. He loved farming and being out doors. He enjoyed working in his garden. Other then his true love , Betty Lou for 56 years, he loved his cows. Whenever he had spare time he would go out to the barn and brush them to keep them clean. He was named "Delta County Farmer of the Year" in 1966. In 1989 the Tourangeau Dairy Farm was the "Farm of the Year for Delta County". Art was a longtime and faithful member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. He served as an usher and was a member of the Men’s Club Smear League for many years.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, 3 baby boys, 2 grandsons: Eric and Bobby Tourangeau; 2 sisters, Bernadette Reuter and Cecile Fries and 5 brothers, Renee, Ernest, Leo, Brother Clem and Raymond.
The Tourangeau family will receive friends on Monday, May 12 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00PM at the church with Rev. Fr Jose Maramattam and Rev. Fr John Tourangeau officiating. A luncheon will be served immediatley following services in the church basement. Art will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
