Katherine F. LaMarche, age 71, of Escanaba, died peacefully Sunday evening June 22, 2008, at the Bishop Noa Home, where she has resided since March of this year.
Katherine was born September 14, 1936, in Escanaba, the daughter of Charles and Mae (DeShambo) Longtine. Katherine was raised in Escanaba and attended and graduated from the Holy Name Catholic High School. Following high school, Katherine continued her education at Northern Michigan University, receiving her degree in nursing. On August 2, 1958, Katherine was united in marriage to Robert L. LaMarche, at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, and together the couple made their home and began their family in the Escanaba area. Robert preceded Katherine in death in 2001. Throughout her life, Katherine worked primarily as a homemaker, keeping their family home and raising her family. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the St. Anthony of Padua Parish. In addition, Katherine belonged to the St. Anthony’s Ladies Guild and was a devoted mother and grandmother to her loving family. She will be deeply missed by all.

• 2 Sons: Bob (Toni) LaMarche of Wells, MI
• Mike (Jamie) LaMarche of Gladstone, MI
• 1 Daughter: Kim (Joe) Dishaw of Florence, WI
• 1 Brother: William Longtine of Escanaba, MI
• 11 Grandchildren: Joey (Val), Bobby, Ben, Louie, Frankie, Angie, Michaela, Michael, Matthew, Jordyn and Danny
• Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

• Infant Son: Lawrence LaMarche
• 1 Sister: Lynn Sargent
Katherine’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00PM to 5:15PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Katherine F. LaMarche will follow visitation, on Wednesday, at 6:00PM, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Luncheon will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Hall. Committal rites will be conducted on Thursday, at 10:30AM, at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
