Dorothy M. Fournier, age 92, of 11495 Chapel Lane, Rock, died early Saturday morning at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Dorothy was born October 26, 1915, in Rock, the daughter of John Edward "Ed" and Emma (Boissnault) Johnson. She was raised in Rock and attended the Rock schools. At the age of 21, Dorothy was united in marriage to Clarence J. Fournier and together the couple made their home and raised their family and spent their entire life in Rock. Throughout Dorothy’s life she worked primarily as a homemaker and was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. She volunteered for the St. Joseph’s Church Ladies Guild and St. Joseph’s Church funeral committee. She loved spending time at the Rock Senior Center, playing cards and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include:
2 Sons: Jack (Janice Baratono) Fournier of Escanaba, MI; Wayne (Marilyn) Fournier of Rock, MI
3 Daughters: Shirley Fick of Gladstone, MI; Beverly (Ernie) Beauchamp of Bark River, MI; Mary (Bill) Trombley of Perkins, MI
In addition, Dorothy leaves to survive, 30 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, special friend Lawrence Wils and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma, her husband Clarence, and three sisters, Helen Posenke, Elizabeth Johnson, and Lorretta Young.
The Fournier family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Dorothy M. Fournier will follow visitation, at 6:00PM, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Luncheon will follow in the St. Joseph Parish Hall. Committal will be in the Rock Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Fournier family with arrangements.
