Janice Kay “Jan” Depuydt, of 6126 Perkins 30.5 Road, died Tuesday morning August 12, 2008 at home following a lengthy illness with cancer.
Janice was born June 20, 1956 in Escanaba the daughter of Walter and Gladys (Krouth) Nelson. Janice was raised in Perkins and she graduated in 1974 from Perkins School.
Janice was united in marriage to Kevin Depuydt on December 13, 1975 at St. Joseph Church in Perkins. They made their home in Perkins where they raised their two sons, Shane and Chad. Janice was a Pharmacy Tech for Super One Pharmacy, and for the past 11 years she had worked for Elder Care Pharmacy until her illness prevented her from working.
Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and she especially treasured spoiling her children. She loved to spend time working in her flower garden and going shopping. Janice was very active with Bethany Lutheran Church in Perkins and she enjoyed rooting for all Detroit athletic teams. She was a great cook and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband Kevin, survivors include;
2 sons: Shane Depuydt of Gladstone; Chad (Lisa Broman) Depuydt of Gladstone
2 brothers: Orville (Marilyn) Besson of Chipley, FL; Gerald (Chris) Nelson of Gladstone
2 sisters: Shirley (Robert) Johnson of Hyde; Cheryl (Dwayne) Couillard of Perkins
Sister-in-law; Myrna Besson of Boise, Idaho
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her Grand dog Harley.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brother Marvin Besson in 2005 and her niece, Elizabeth Besson in 2007.
Janice’s family would like to give special thanks to Carolyn Beauvis for her excellent care and compassion for Janice.
Janice’s family will receive friends on Thursday August 14, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Janice Kay Depuydt will follow at 6:00 PM at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Perkins with Rev. Peter Andersen and Rev. Richard Huetter officiating. Luncheon will follow services at the Perkins Lions Club. Burial will be in the Perkins Cemetery.
