Mary Jane Mileski, age 89, of Escanaba, currently a resident at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008.

Mary was born December 25, 1918 in Escanaba and remained a lifelong resident. She was united in marriage to Theodore Mileski on June 27, 1938. Mary was a longtime member of the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parishes and was often seen helping with luncheons and other church activities. She also served as a foster grandparent at the Holy Name School for 23 years. Mary was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Tuesday Night Bowling League at the Holiday Bowl for over 30 years and the Wednesday 55 and over league at the Bowl-A-Rama for over 15 years. Mary loved to spend time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. She also loved cooking and baking.

2 Sons: Bill Mileski and his special friend Sherry Artley of Gladstone; Mike Mileski and his special friend Linda Hoke of Statesville, North Carolina

2 Daughters: Mary Margaret Slowinski of Milwaukee, WI; Mary Jo (Clinton) Delvaux of Escanaba

8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore on January 22, 1979 and her parents.

Mary’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 13 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:00 PM at the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish with Rev. Fr. Eric Olson officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following services in the church fellowship hall. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
