Robert “Bob” Russell, age 56, of 2415 Fifth Avenue South in Escanaba passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Bob was born February 28, 1952 in Escanaba to Lloyd and Sophie Lorain (Young) Russell. Bob became a longtime resident of Gladstone and often attended the Memorial United Methodist Church. He was also involved with Escanaba Masonic Lodge DeMolay and was a truck driver with Bark River Transit.

2 Daughters: Shanna (Mike) Hammond of Green Bay, WI; Johanna Russell of Perkins, MI

1 Son: Jimmy Russell of Phillips, WI

A granddaughter: Penelope Hammond

1 Brother: Anthony “Butch” (Eileen) Cavill of Rapid River, MI

1 Sister: Julie (Robert) Neumann of Escanaba, MI

Numerous nieces and nephews

2 Uncles: Ralph (Leda) Young of Escanaba; Donald Russell of Streamwood, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Sophie Lorain Russell and his brother, Jimmy Russell.

Memorial services celebrating Bob’s life will be Sunday, August 10 at 3:00 PM at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone with Rev. Jackie Roe officiating. Bob’s family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church. A luncheon will be served immediately following services at the church. The Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Russell family.
